The Roland Garros semifinal between Carlos Alcaraz and Lorenzo Musetti ended in disappointment for the Italian, who was forced to retire from the match in the fourth set due to a leg injury, but elation for some young fans in the crowd.
That's because they left Court Philippe-Chatrier with an unforgettable memory with the help of A-list actor Eddie Redmayne.
Once the semifinal prematurely ended, the youngsters raced courtside in an attempt to get Alcaraz's autograph as he left the court, but couldn't get close enough for some face time with the defending champion to hand him a big tennis ball to sign.
Enter The Day of the Jackal and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star, who, along with a woman in the front row, help faciliate the hand-off of balls to Alcaraz, who dutifully signed them. Redmayne also ensured that the kids got their priceless souvenirs back safely.
