Less than 24 hours after the Ukrainian world No. 33, a semifinalist in Melbourne last year, lost to Elena Rybakina in straight sets in Friday's third round, she was crowd-sourcing for a new hitting partner on Instagram, citing only an "emergency" that necessitated she advertise the vacancy within her team.

Her requirements, besides age? Travel at least 25 weeks on the road, and own a career-best ITF ranking of Top 50 and/or a Top 400 mark on the ATP tour.

The 24-year-old's unconventional recruiting strategy caught the eye of not just fans online, but pundits on Tennis Channel Live. Former world No. 1 Lindsay Davenport suggested that Yasremska's parameters were too strict, arguing that the depth in men's tennis is the best it's ever been, while Prakash Amritraj quipped that she missed an opportunity by not asking prospective candidates to "slide into her DMs [direct messages]."

But with Yastremska's ranking set to drop from on the fringes of Grand Slam seeding range to just inside the Top 75 after failing to defend the vast majority of the points she picked up in Australia last year, perhaps a shake-up from the outside is just what the former world No. 21 needs to get back on track.
