tiafoe-taylor

Frances Tiafoe might not count himself among the growing population of Swifties on the tennis tour, but after meeting Taylor Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game three months ago, the American says that the Eras Tour songstress has his "ultimate respect."

Ahead of competing this week at the ATP 500 Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentado por HSBC in Acapulco, the two-time US Open semifinalist dished on meeting Swift at Arrowhead Stadium in November, where he and his girlfriend Ayan Broomfield snapped smiling selfies with Swift and her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

While the former world No. 10 has become something of a celebrity whisperer in his tennis career, rubbing shoulders with Caitlin Clark, LeBron James and Michelle Obama at various on- and off-court functions, even he was left star-struck in the pop idol's presence.

Tiafoe had nothing but glowing things to report about Swift, who despite her fame, was "super down to Earth," according to him.

"I appreciate greatness so much, and seeing how cool she was, she's got my ultimate respect," he said.

"She was very knowledgeable about what I was doing," he continued. "She was like, 'Man, we wanted to watch you play in the final at the \[US\] Open,' and ... 'Trav loves you,' and this and that.

"We were drinking all day together. She was so cool. One of the most humble people for who she is. ... She's amazing, and hopefully, we can do that again."
