Watch what you tweet, Matthew McConaughey, because Jessica Pegula has eyes everywhere. 👀

After securing her place in her second final of 2025 at the ATX Open in Austin on Saturday, the world No. 4 admitted she enjoyed getting to put on a show for the A-list actor, and a fixture at tennis events, seated in the front row.

It took long enough, she joked, saying she was "finally" happy to run into the star.

"I know he's always supporting a lot of sporting events ... I always see him tweeting at Tommy Paul, so maybe now I'll get an at-shoutout, maybe," she quipped after beating Ajla Tomljanovic in three sets.

The Academy Award winner came good on his promise a short while later, posting on X, formerly Twitter: "I hear you @JPegula. See you in the finals tomorrow at ATX."

McConaughey is one of Hollywood's highest-profile tennis players and fans, even going so far as to sit in Novak Djokovic's player box when the Serb won the 2023 US Open title. Though the Dazed and Confused star hails from Uvalde, Texas, a few hours away from Austin, Pegula admitted she "didn't have [it] on her bingo card" to meet him at the WTA 250 event.

"I was like, 'That's pretty cool, but now I've gotta win ... crap,'" she joked, eventually beating Tomljanovic in just under two hours. She'll face the rising McCartney Kessler, the fifth seed, in Sunday's final–and the former Florida Gator was also cheered on to victory by McConaughey in her semifinal against Belgian Greet Minnen.

In addition to praising Pegula, the native Texan also had glowing comments for the only WTA tournament in his home state, saying that he hopes it can one day grow to be a 500-level event.
