WATCH: Saville is one of tennis' most genuine and authentic personalities on social media, from TikTok to vlogs describing her life on tour.

What's that old saying ... Happy wife, happy life? Even if Daria Saville doesn't win the 2022 WTA Comeback Player of the Year award, she'll no doubt appreciate how hard her husband, fellow Aussie touring pro Luke Saville, is campaigning for her.

But let's review: A former Top 20 player, Saville missed much of the 2021 season as a consequence of an Achilles injury that necessitated surgery. She returned with thunder in 2022: Ranked outside the Top 600 in February, Saville reached the quarterfinals in Guadalajara, the fourth round in Indian Wells, and the quarterfinals in Miami to begin a charge back up the WTA rankings.

In Indian Wells, she beat Ons Jabeur for her first Top 10 win in four years. At No. 249, she was the lowest-ranked quarterfinalist in Miami Open history. In June, she returned to the Top 100, and in August, she finished runner-up to Daria Kasatkina in Granby, Canada in her first WTA singles final in five years.

Saville ultimately landed on the tour's Comeback Player of the Year shortlist alongside Wimbledon semifinalist Tatjana Maria, San Diego finalist Donna Vekic, and Serena Williams.

For her husband, who reached the men's doubles final at the 2020 Australian Open and boasts a career-high doubles ranking of No. 23, there's only one winner.

But he wasn't the only one: The Savilles' fellow Aussies, Darren Cahill and Ellen Perez, were among those to agree with Luke's assessment, which received full endorsement from Daria on her own social media.

Whatever the result, Saville will likely be eligible for the award in 2023 in a cruel twist of fate. She tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in a first-round match against Naomi Osaka in Tokyo in September—an injury that forced her to end her season a month early.

The WTA will announces its year-end award-winners, which are voted on by members of the tennis media, next month.
