Madison Keys, Linda Fruhvirtova team up to raise money for Keys' Kindness Wins charity

Madison Keys is recruiting other WTA players to help spread the mission of her flagship foundation, Kindness Wins.

Over the weekend, Keys and Czech teenager Linda Fruhvirtova teamed up to raise money for the American's charity in Boca Raton, Fla., as they played an exhibition match and mingled with fans at a fundraiser on Saturday at The Boca Raton, a luxury resort and club.

Founded in 2020 by Keys, the Kindness Wins Foundation is "a nonprofit dedicated to promoting kindness to youth, kindness to self and kindness to others in times of struggle," as per its website. Founded with an emphasis on combating the negativity on social media and bullying, its goals also include supporting youth and their access to sport and education.

This year, for example, the foundation made good on its mission when it unveiled refurbished tennis courts in North Charleston, S.C., financed in part through donations collected on the foundation's annual "Kindness Wins Day," which last year raised nearly $20,000.

Since the foundation's launch, Keys has been vocal about how other players have approached her to help advance its mission. The inclusion of a young player like Fruhvirtova, just 18, is evidenced that her message is resonating with other generations.

“The more vocal I am about it, the more other women on tour ask me about it and ask what they can do to be involved,” Keys told *Forbes* in 2020 when she launched the foundation. “I think it is going to be really great that I have a great group of women on tour that are really excited to do whatever they can to help.”

In addition to playing a match against Fruhvirtova in the evening, Keys hosted a kids' clinic for young girls of all ages during the day.
