On the seventh season of My Tennis Life, we’re doing things a bit differently.

Instead of following two active players across the WTA and ATP calendar, the multi-platform show will check in with a host of figures in the sport—from players, to commentators to influencers and more—giving fans the most complete look yet at life on the tennis tour.

Ahead of the Miami Open presented by Itau, My Tennis Life caught up with Olympic gold medalist Monica Puig and the talented DJ Mad Linx to take you behind the scenes at the Hard Rock Stadium and beyond.

Puig, who documented the ups and downs of WTA Tour life on Season 4 of My Tennis Life, was thrilled to be back for one more episode in her hometown:

The 29-year-old, who recently completed the Boston Marathon, announced her retirement from professional tennis in 2022—but she hasn't strayed far from the game. In her MTL episode, Puig opens up about how she stays connected to the sport through emcee and TV commentary roles, including for Tennis Channel.

"Since retiring in May, it has been really, really hard grasping that I'm not a tennis player anymore," she admits. "Yes, I've transitioned to running and I'm having fun with marathon training, but there's no feeling that compares to being out on the court. Every time I go out there and do the announcements, I miss it!

"It's bittersweet, but at the end of the day, this is always something that I really wanted to do. I wanted to work in TV and do some of these really fun things that I'm doing, and I'm enjoying every single moment."

Elsewhere in Miami, DJ Mad Linx was the man of the moment as the DJ and radio personality gave MTL viewers an all-access pass to some of South Florida's hottest tennis events, like the swanky pre-tournament party at Citi Taste of Tennis.

DJ Mad Linx—who produced Denis Shapovalov's Night Train back in 2020—also flexed his selfie video skills as he chatted with the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Grigor Dimitrov, Sloane Stephens and more on the set of Tennis Channel's Warm & Fuzzy.
