After a Cruel Summer, No. 6 seed Maria Sakkari is back to her winning ways after defeating Linda Fruhvirtova to start her China Open campaign. And with their second-round match ending past Midnight(s) in Beijing, one tennis commentator-slash-Taylor Swift enjoyer took the opportunity to drop a few pop-culture references during the broadcast.

As Sakkari closed in on a 6-4, 6-2 victory, world feed announcers Kevin Skinner and Sophie Amiach mentioned a fun fact about the Fruhvirtova sisters, 18-year-old Linda and 16-year-old Brenda:

“They’re both fans of Harry Styles and Taylor Swift,” Amiach told Skinner. “That’s the way they roll.”

The Fruhvirtovas are indeed self-proclaimed Swifties—with Linda recently telling Baseline that she hopes to see the “Cardigan” singer live in concert one day, after the Czech sisters took in a Harry Styles show together last year.

Without missing a beat, Skinner volleyed back with a classic T-Swift reference:

“I mean, you know that Fruhvirtova knew Sakkari was trouble when she walked in, in their first ever meeting,” he said, a nod to the 2012 hit single from the singer’s Red album.

That’s when Amiach quickly went from being The 1 to an Anti-Hero, as the line completely stumped the former tennis player from France.

“See, that’s how much I know about Taylor Swift,” Amiach joked, “but I do know the name!”

With Amiach clearly not Ready For It, Skinner helped out his fellow commentator by explaining the lyric—but couldn’t resist the chance to sneak in another pop music reference as Sakkari marched toward match point:

“As It Was, Sakkari began with a bunch of winners and she’s continuing on in that front,” he said, adding, “That’s a Harry Styles song.”

Back on Diamond Court, Sakkari advanced to face Wang Xinyu in the round of 16—a bit of good Karma for the Greek amid a season of up-and-down results.

Sakkari had to Shake It Off after departing from the US Open in tears, pondering a break from tennis. But the world No. 6 is playing her brand of Fearless tennis once again, and after lifting her first trophy of the year in Guadalajara she’s put herself right on the bubble of qualifying for the WTA Finals Cancun later this season.
