Here's what the future of doubles looks like, according to the Bryan Brothers

Tennis is taking over Miami! 🌴

As Tennis Channel’s exclusive coverage of the Sunshine Swing shifts to the Miami Open, so too, does the longing to get out there and hit!

Take advantage of the south Florida tennis scene while its hot at these top courts near Hard Rock Stadium.

1. Five Minutes & Under

If you’re like this Tennis Traveler and want to smell the Miami Open from your own playing courts, then these few public park options minutes away from Hard Rock Stadium are calling.

Buccaneer Park is a stone's throw away from the Miami Open, where two public, outdoor hard courts long for players to use them. In the complete opposite direction from Hard Rock Stadium is Norwood Park, which also houses two outdoor hard courts for public use.

Rolling Oaks Park is more of a 15-minute drive away, but houses twice the amount of the tennis courts. Tucked away in the trees are four outdoor hard tennis courts that deserve a little bit of love.

2. A Little Bit Further Away

Thirty minutes away from Hard Rock Stadium, in the beach direction might we add, is the members-only Golden Isles Tennis Center. Home to six hard and four clay courts, tennis is just the beginning. There are also four pickleball courts, two basketball courts, and two bocce courts for use.

They offer weekday clinics and programs from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., as well as morning intermediate clinics on Saturdays and Sundays. Memberships for tennis courts starts at $160 per person, and $80 for pickleball-only access.

Nestled in the Golden Isles neighborhood, the waterfront community is just one road away from the Atlantic Ocean, not to mention a straight shot from Barracuda Reefs, a tourist attraction for open water divers.

3. From Hard Rock to Flamingo Park

A piece of tennis history resides at the Flamingo Park Tennis Center, as the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships began here in 1947. Players like Jim Courier, Roger Federer and Caroline Wozniacki have all won this coveted junior international tournament en route to the professional circuit.

Open to the public, court fees start at $10 an hour. But unlike many Miami-based tennis facilities, this center has no hard courts. There are 19 Har-Tru clay courts on site, as well as amenities provided at the main center.

You've never seen so many Har-Tru courts in one facility.

The center is about 45 minutes away, by car, from Hard Rock Stadium and the Miami Open. Fear not, as streaming Tennis Channel’s coverage of the Miami Open while playing tennis at South Beach is a win-win.

4. Keep Up The Pace, Margaret

Across the MacArthur Causeway from Flamingo Park Tennis Center is an eight-acre, pet-friendly park overlooking Biscayne Bay. Margaret Pace Park has 17 listed facilities on its website, from two public tennis courts to walking trails to picnic areas.

Margaret Pace Park is one of 147 active parks in Miami, and is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Its tennis courts are free to use, and first-come, first-serve.

As for the Biscayne Bay, it is much more than a stunning backdrop for those backhands. According to Miami-Dade County, this bay holds local, regional, national, and international importance as it houses two aquatic preserves, a critical wildlife area, a national park, and a national marine sanctuary.

5. Last But Not Least: Everything

If you’re looking to make a whole day of the outdoors 😎, then drive up to Davie, Fla., for a destination rife with tennis fun under the sun, and so much more.

North of Hard Rock Stadium and just outside Miami is a 113-acre park and sports complex open to the public. From aquatic centers to gymnasiums to four outdoor tennis courts, Bamford Sports Complex has it all.

Making up Davie Pine Island Park, a whole day in the Miami weather can be spent at the sports complex, as well as at its neighboring 23-acre Tree Tops Park. Every piece of this land comes to life with events and programming throughout the year, not to mention community services for volunteers to partake.
