The Pole didn't wait long to submit this around-the-net-post (net pole?) stunner for consideration as shot of the year, with 364 days to go:

Depending on where you're located, the shot took place in the middle of the night or early in the morning, so it took a little time to gain worldwide traction on social media. But once it did, Twitter was ablaze with kudos for Swiatek's creativity and skill.

But the best tweet may have come from the shotmaker herself—who asked another shotmaker for his thoughts:

It's all fun and games for the Swiss and the Pole now, but thanks to Team Poland's 4-1 victory over Kazakhstan, Swiatek, Hubert Hurkacz and Magda Linette will face Switzerland to determine the winner of Group B.
