LOS ANGELES, April 8, 2025 – The United States’ women’s national tennis team will face Denmark and Slovakia in the qualifying round of the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup tournament April 12-13, live on Tennis Channel, its app and website. Featuring World No. 3 singles player Jessica Pegula, the Americans face Denmark Saturday, April 12, at 9 a.m. ET, and host nation Slovakia Sunday, April 13, also at 9 a.m. ET. The winner of the three-country, round-robin competition will advance to the tournament finals and a chance to win the annual championship later this year.

Both qualifiers take place at Peugeot Arena in Bratislava, Slovakia. Head-to-head contests between countries feature two singles matches followed by a doubles match, each worth one point.

Tennis Channel’s on-air team features Hall of Fame analyst Tracy Austin (@thetracyaustin), who was dominant during her time playing in the tournament for the United States. The Americans won the 1978-1980 cup championships in the three years she competed for her country. She will be joined by announcer Mark Petchey (@_markpetchey) who compiled a 5-2 doubles record playing for Britain in Davis Cup, the men’s equivalent international-team tournament. Another former American men’s tennis professional, Leif Shiras (@ShirasLeif), will also handle announcing duties during Tennis Channel’s U.S. Billie Jean King Cup coverage.

In addition to Pegula, the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup team includes Danielle Collins, who is coming off a career year in 2024, when she reached the Australian Open singles final and won the Miami Open. World No. 8 doubles player Asia Muhammad is also on the team, as is World No. 13 doubles player Desirae Krawczyk. Rising star McCartney Kessler, who won her first top-10 singles victory in February, rounds out the group.

The United States has won 18 Billie Jean King Cups, the most of any nation. The team is Captained by Hall of Famer and longtime Tennis Channel analyst Lindsay Davenport. As a player she went 33-3 during tournament competition, including 7-0 in doubles. Davenport contributed to American cup titles in 1996, 1999 and 2000.
