Victoria Azarenka, who has reached the semifinals of the US Open, has received a wild card for Strasbourg.

The 31-year-old from Belarus has won 10 matches in two weeks, having also lifted the title at the Western & Southern Open. She now looks less likely to ask to play next week's big clay event at Rome, and instead is scheduled to appear at Strasbourg the following week.

Strasbourg has kept its slot right before the French Open, moving its dates alongside the rescheduled clay-court Slam.

The normally low-key tournament has a stellar clutch of names that includes Karolina Pliskova, Sofia Kenin and Elina Svitolina, though it could experience some withdrawals from players who go deep at Rome.

The event plans to have some crowds in attendance, as allowed by the government.

Azarenka is No. 27 in the rankings.
