Four U.S. women—Keys, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro—leave Melbourne in the Top 10. Their visible presence should continue into 2025.
The American won her ninth career title in three sets, 6-3,, 4-6, 6-1.
"Even when I practice with her, she'll throw in the underarm serve. I thought for sure that was coming at some point," Pegula said after a 7-6(4), 6-3 win.
Pegula improved to 3-0 overall against Putintseva with a 7-6(4), 6-3 win in one hour and 29 minutes.
